Equine Alert System In Final Testing Stages
Oct 20, 2009
Equine Alert systems are designed specifically for detection of
intrusion and/or fire in equine boarding and service structures. Equine
Alert also offers the addition of video monitoring of area or specific
stall with easy viewing via Internet communications.
"The key component in remote camera access is through satellite Internet connections," said Julie Calzone, founder and owner. "Our third party provider and installation partners are finalizing the connection stabilization needed to view and operate cameras remotely. The techonology is in place and our demonstration portal will be active shortly."
Conventional Internet connections are already operating via fiber optics, cable, DSL and other hard wire connections.
"We are finding a big demand for our system," said Calzone. "Horse owners, caretakers, breeding farms and veterinarians have been enthusiast in their response to our model."
Equine Alert has partnered with Lafayette Alarm for installation because of their expertise and nationwide GE provider network. Acadian Ambulance provides the monitoring component for intrusion and fire detection. All three companies are based in Lafayette, Louisiana.
